Fair Use Policy

Our Approach to Limits
Krosstabs is built directly in the browser to offer you maximum speed and privacy. We structure our Standard and Professional plans to be "Unlimited (fair use)" for datasets and projects. Our goal is simple: if your usage patterns are consistent with individual professional use, you should never have to think about hitting a wall.
What Constitutes Professional Use?
We measure fair use based on typical human workflow patterns. Running dozens of analyses a day, exporting hundreds of configurations over a week, or managing dozens of active tracker projects simultaneously is completely normal and expected.
However, using Krosstabs via automated scripts, attempting to use an individual license to process data for an entire agency concurrently, or bypassing our UI to hit the Web Workers programmatically falls outside the scope of fair use.
Enforcement
We do not want to penalize edge-case power users with hard, arbitrary numbers. If you occasionally need to exceed typical limits to get a big project over the finish line, our system allows it.
If a specific account systematically degrades performance for others or displays clear non-human automation patterns, we reserve the right to flag it. In such rare cases, we will reach out directly to the email on file before taking action, to ensure your legitimate work is not disrupted.
AI Coder Exports
Unlike browser-based compute, AI operations incur high direct costs. Because of this, Open-End Coder exports have hard monthly limits outlined on our Pricing Page. These are fixed caps and are not subject to the flexible fair use guidelines covering datasets and projects.
